Dr. Johanna Seddon

Dr. Seddon is a world-renowned retina specialist and genetic epidemiologist. She completed Harvard fellowships in Ophthalmic Pathology and Vitreoretinal Surgery, and she founded Ophthalmic Epidemiology and Genetics Services at two institutions in Boston, Harvard and Tufts. Dr. Seddon specializes in the evaluation and treatment of patients with retinal dystrophies and degenerations, including macular degeneration, Stargardt Disease, Best Disease, high myopia as well as other macular disorders.   

Dr. Terry Smith

 The Frederick G.L. Huetwell Professor in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School, studies Graves’ disease, its ocular manifestations, and related autoimmune diseases. Dr. Smith’s laboratory has described many unique molecular attributes of tissues surrounding the eye that make the orbit susceptible to inflammation and remodeling in Graves' disease.  

Dr. David Huang

 Dr. David Huang is the Peterson Professor of Ophthalmology and a professor of biomedical engineering at the Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Dr. Huang earned BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from MIT, and MD-PhD degrees from the joint Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program.  Dr. Huang is known for his innovations in applying laser and optical technology to eye diseases. Dr. Huang is a co-inventor of optical coherence tomography (OCT).
